Philosophy in biology and medicine
University of Bordeaux
This Bordeaux Summer School is organized by the PhilinBioMed network and the University of Bordeaux. It is open to second year Master students, doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows from the fields of philosophy, life sciences, and medicine. Participants will learn to use interdisciplinary methods to address conceptual issues in scientific research.
Course leaders will be present throughout the week providing examples of interdisciplinary research based on their own experience, as well as interacting and advising participants on their projects. Course leaders include Angela Potochnik (Cincinatti), Elliott Sober (Wisconsin), Paul Griffiths (Sydney), Alan Love (Minnesota), along with local organizers.

fee: Participation fee: 440€ per participant (including lunches, coffee breaks, accommodation and social program costs). Grants: a limited number of grants will be awarded to participants upon request. To apply for an exemption, participants must send a cover letter along with their application, detailing why they would like to participate and justifying their request for financial support. |

requirements: The course is designed for second year Master students, doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows from the fields of philosophy of sciences, life sciences, and medicine. Language requirements: classes are conducted in English. Candidates should have a B2 level of English or equivalent. Candidates must provide a CV and cover letter. |
