Wine and sake: the cutting-edge of oenology and sakeology

This Bordeaux Summer School is organized within the framework of bilateral collaborations between the University of Bordeaux and the University of Niigata (Japan). Promoting joint scientific activities in oenology and sakeology, it is open to graduate students, doctoral students, researchers and professionals.

The current scientific, technical and economic issues facing the wine and sake industries will be presented by experts, who will also outline current research questions and new evolutions for these disciplines. Tutored work sessions will allow participants to develop research ideas for project proposals in their areas of expertise.

Participation fee:
› 240€ for students from the University of Bordeaux (including lunches, coffee breaks and social program costs)
› 240€ for students from Niigata University (including lunches, coffee breaks, accommodation and social program costs)
› 960€ for other participants (including lunches, coffee breaks, accommodation and social program costs)

Grants: a limited number of grants will be awarded to participants upon request. To apply for an exemption, participants must send a cover letter along with their application, detailing why they would like to participate and justifying their request for financial support.

Entry requirements:
The course is designed for graduate and doctoral students, as well as scientists with solid expertise or specific interest in oenology and/or sakeology.

Language requirements: classes are conducted in English. Candidates should have at least a B2 level of English or equivalent.

Candidates must provide a CV and cover letter.
