Europe's Unity in Value Diversity
Tilburg University
Europe is changing fast. Confronted with challenges like Artificial Intelligence and a continuing influx of refugees, public opinion is argued to become increasingly polarized, and that values have taken a more conservative turn. In this course, you will learn to address the impact of such challenges on individual values, attitudes and behavior.
Succeeding Jean-Claude Juncker, the new President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, stated that Europe is changing fast. Confronted with challenges like Artificial Intelligence and a continuing influx of refugees, public opinion is argued to become increasingly polarized, and that values have taken a more conservative turn. This Summer School course addresses the impact of such challenges on individual values, attitudes, and behavior.
Each day of this one-week course, an important social trend will be covered. Theoretical models allow you to understand these social trends better, after which quantitative strategies are shown and validated in computer labs to study social change.
